Project 365, Week 43

There are many soccer pictures this week. Amanda only has a hand full of games left to play, maybe ever. We've loved the journey of being super fans...Shaun has never even missed one game, other than a few Covid ones that he was strictly uninvited to. I was able to make three of four games this week, one of which was senior night. What a gift to be there and feeling good. What a gift.

It is a great blessing in my life to be able to walk outside. I walk in silence, I listen to inspiring music, I have real talks with God, I stop to chat with someone out in their yard, I judge the mom who drives her kids to the end of their driveway and then returns to a house I can see from the road. I pray for my children and husband, like only a mom and wife can. I move my legs, breathe air through my lungs and wonder at the miracle of it all.

Big Day! Soccer Senior Night!

First, Amanda and I stopped at her friend Sarah's game, who was also doing Senior Night. So sweet that three of her youth leaders were there, also the cutest friends from church and her family.

Then we were off to Amanda's school to get setup and warmed up.

It was so very sweet to have a crowd of friends and family there for the evening to be part of such a meaningful milestone for Amanda.

The next day Shaun and I were up at 4 AM for a day of appointments and treatment in a combination of both Manhattan and Westchester.

Of the 15 floors, we're not on this one very often, but I decided they have the best plants.

It was in the 70's and I was able to sit outside for a bit, a huge victory for pump day.

Again this year, Nathan's franchise, made up of four offices, got into the Elite 25...top 25 in the nation! Even though he's in his 40's I can't help but be big-sister proud. He runs his business with dedication and integrity and a brain-scrambling amount of multi-tasking.

To celebrate, he treated the staff to brunch near the coast and a train and boat ride along the Connecticut River. Avery sent me a few pictures and she and Nathanael got some nice time together.

October 28
Avery had a full day of work and a date, but she got up early and helped her dad with leaves. Again, I was thrilled to be able to get outside.

Jack and Avery got dressed up and went to a fancy restaurant to celebrate. Jack recently graduated from a linesman program and after an intimidating interview process he was offered a job in his first choice region, nice and close to home. So proud of both of them...they are adulting well!

Amanda joined some other kids from youth group and went to cheer at a friend's homecoming game.

The day was magnificent. I laid on the porch floor in the sun and slept. :)

October 29
Our pastor has been going through the book of Romans at the same time the Teen Bible Quiz has been studying it. Colombo coordinated with our pastor to have one of the kids recite chapter 8. Andrea boldly stepped up and agreed to stand in front of hundreds. She took the microphone and blew us all away!! I was kind of glad to be watching alone at home because I kept alternating between grinning like a fool and crying. I was so proud and it was so beautiful to hear God's word spoken like that. It would only take a couple minutes to watch it HERE.
