November's 10 on 10

10 pictures on the 10th day of the month (Tuesday).
{Document a snapshot of your life; find beauty among the ordinary things in your day!}

My morning spot has moved indoors where its warmer. Some people are strong enough to get through their day without God's strength and peace...I'm not one of them.

Sweet kids, headed off to school. After two years of different schools/start times, they are all back on one schedule and it really streamlines things in the morning. Also, we all miss the St. Mary's days.

Foggy, quiet morning walk with the dog.

Much of what I get done in a day happens between the time the kids get on the bus and when I leave for the office. Its my "go time".

Drinks and lunch. Its a small win when I successfully carry all of it in and unlock the front door without spilling/dropping anything.

My heart.

One office, two companies. Sometimes my brain hurts a little switching between the two in the same minute but mostly it works really well.

Sometimes it works out that I can beat the kids home by 15 minutes. I'll grab a cup of tea and sit with a book or just my quiet thoughts and soak in the sun and peace.

Aiden had a friend over after school while the girls were at soccer practice.

Avery and I went to pick up our grocery order and then to the fabric store to pick out material to reupholster the kitchen stools. She's fun to hang with. Also, the store clearly has some major roof issues...quite the setup of tarps and tubes and five-gallon buckets.

After dinner Amanda and I got cozy and settled in for a Christmas movie. She and I are Hallmark Christmas movie buddies, though this one happened to not be Hallmark.

Project 365, Week 46

There is something incredibly nostalgic and significant
about the annual cascade of autumn leaves.

November 9
The loveliest of days, weather and beauty-wise. So I walked in the morning with the dog and in the afternoon with Aiden. Before we picked up the girls from soccer practice, we stopped at a trail that I had just learned about. It was less hiking trail and more little walking path but there was a neat little building with a door that was just begging to be used in a photo shoot. Aiden was uninterested in being the subject, but instead suggested he be the photographer. And then he told me what a beautiful smile I have and so I crowned him my favorite child. ;)

My buddy.

November 10
Morning sun, morning rituals.

November 11

There was a COVID case at the high school so the girls did a day of remote learning while contact tracing and deep cleaning were conducted. Finally, there seems to be a workable system in place. They logged into each class at the normal time and had live instruction. The next day they were back in-person. What a blessing that Shaun and I can generally work our schedules such that one of us is home supervising and encouraging. I know that is not the case in many families.

For the first time since March the Junior Bible Quiz team met in person. They were SO happy to see each other!

November 12
I snapped this photo because it was so wonderfully ordinary. After practice, after work, everyone gathered in the kitchen reviewing the day. Sometimes we have great conversations, sometimes there is arguing but I don't want to take it for granted having the kids around.

November 13

No picture.

November 14

We found some extra friends to play with. :)

Aiden's last outdoor soccer game for a while.

Oh my gosh...THE cutest thing was walking in to find two teenagers and a two-year old having equal amounts of fun dancing to Baby Shark. He is ALL about the kids and they are ALL about him. Its a super special relationship they have.

November 15
Sweet boy.

What a great experince for Shaun and the kids to be able to play soccer together every week. The kids are really benefiting from playing with others who are so much better.

Project 365, Week 45

There was hard in this week and there was also a whole lotta ordinary. The kids are in school five days a week, participating in sports and we're working. So many blessings, the trick is to keep our focus there, which is an active, daily process!

November 2
The girls had an away game, and thankfully it was streamed online. Shaun and I watched excitedly as they both got to go into the varsity game.

They come home from games or practices so hungry!

November 3
Election Day. Can we possibly talk about this anymore?? I'll just say, my two biggest thoughts as I was pulling out of the parking lot:

Thank you, brave men and women who have fought to make sure we have a democracy and a peaceful visit to the polls
AND

Thank you, God, for your sovereignty. All day, this verse from Daniel rolled around in my head. Where we're concerned with the next four years, kingdoms have been rising and falling for thousands of years.

“Praise the name of God forever and ever,
for he has all wisdom and power.
21
He controls the course of world events;
he removes kings and sets up other kings.

Aiden I were torn about Question #1...do we approve the proposed improvements and repairs to the library that will increase our taxes?? :)

November 4
Watching the girls do what they do makes us smile. Also, Avery scored!!

November 5
First home meet, last cross country meet for the season.

Girls Night In...we all chose something from The Defined Dish, cooked together and had a lovely candlelight meal.

November 6
I was witness to both the sunrise and the sunset. It was a good day.

November 7

The girls had an away soccer game, so Aiden and I were the runners in a local 4-mile race. There was a ceremony to honor Veterans and all proceeds went directly to veterans organizations. Its a well- organized, feel-good event and so sweet that Aiden was willing to do it with me. Also, the weather was unbeatable!

I found a mostly naked man and a large American flag across the road. If I'd seen a human running in a Christmas tree and Safety Man, it would've been just like the Manchester Road Race. :)

We stopped for a quick pic at Mile 2, which Shaun sponsored.

Back at home, more raking. One of the biggest leaves I've ever seen!

Shaun and us three girls moved two washing machines and a dryer. Worth it to greatly improve our laundry closet situation.

November 8

Loving the temperatures in November! I got to be outside on the porch before daylight.

I walked with a friend on a path that was still clinging to fall. Pretty!

And then we worked around the house....at least some of us. :)
