Project 365, Week 42

Another beautiful week in October! Maybe peek for color? I'm not sure. I do know the smell of dried leaves mixed with the smoke from a woodstove burning is heavenly. Search out and breathe in simple pleasures and beauty when you can, right where you are. We get to choose where we fix our focus.

October 12
This little stinker was up a good part of the night again, so of course he fell asleep 1.5 minutes down the road.

After I dropped him off, I went to the orchard where we normally go on Columbus Day. Thousands of people usually attend the three-day festival, but this year, it was empty. So sad. :(

Because they were out of town for my uncle's funeral, Pop and Kiki missed LobsterFest and they are some of the biggest fans of lobster, so we decided there needed to be a LobsterFest 2.0! It had a differnt vibe than our summer-y Labor Day fest, but it was fun!!

October 13
There are necessary, not-fun projects happening at the new office. Shaun is digging ditches and re-routing water to get the basement dry.

October 14
I love how the morning sun kisses our front door.

I don't know why the builders kept a forest of trees in our front yard, but this time of year they sure are pretty.

One girls head lice is another girl's gain...Avery got to start varsity!! She's grown in confidence and strength and skills over last year and its so fun to watch.

October 15
The sunrise right now is timed perfectly with bus pickup time. So pretty!

Aiden had another cross country meet, this time just with two schools. He finishes middle of the pack in these meets. Very kind of one of the home team parents to take photos and share!

October 16
The dogs have been taking Amy and I walking every week. The path we walk is stunning right now and its a highlight of my week.

October 17
More walking, this time with my little guy. Its just SUCH a gorgeous time of year to be outside and also its here today, gone tomorrow.

The new office property is very picturesque...Aiden is anxious to go fishing in the stream next spring when we get some rain.

Sometimes the kids are willing helpers who work hard, other times they complain and argue and make extra work for us.

October 18
We had some visitors at the property, where there are plentiful leaves and hiding places. :)

Look at that kid in red! :)

On game days the girls soccer team chooses different themes to wear to school. The girls were trying on my clothes, attempting to find something that would work for country day. They know my closet is the place to go if you need decades-old boot cut jeans. :)

October's 10 on 10

10 pictures on the 10th day of the month (Saturday). {Document a snapshot
of your life; find beauty among the ordinary things in your day!}

“I must take care above all that I cultivate communion with Christ, for though that can never be the basis of my peace - mark that - yet it will be the channel of it.”
Charles Spurgeon

Day five into a 30-day challenge with my sister, emphasis on the challenge part! I'm only smiling here for the picture...I was beat post-workout!

Sweet boy in cozy jams reading the weekend comics.

Avery and Amanda had an early morning JV home game. What a joy to watch them on the field together!

Everyone is happy with this situation. :)

I sang for half a song and he was out.

In an effort to justify sitting on the porch, basking in the sun in the middle of the afternoon, I decided to make an apple pie. :)

And later the girls asked me to play a game with them. It was Sarah's first time playing...and she won!

I went to church to take pictures and it was a fun surprise to see my photos from past years displayed.

After church I found the family at the new building working hard....or hardly working ;)

Bedtime stories...oh, the sweetness!!!
