Shaun's annual financial advisor conference was scheduled for this week in Seattle. We opted to go a day early to recognize our 25th wedding anniversary. It was the last week of school so, by default, the kids were occupied for a part of each day. I arranged for each kid to cook dinner one of the nights, too. Nathan and Laryssa stayed at the house to supervise and do driving and my kids were super happy to have little cousins around to love on. Everyone, including the babysitters, was alive when we returned and we were super thankful for the time away, together.

We flew out of Boston and landed in Seattle. From there we rented a car and drove four hours down to the Oregon coast. We ate dinner on the beach and walked along the shore and spent the night in an inn right on the sand. It was a long, lovely day.

After a leisurely morning, we got back in the car to drive back up to Seattle.
We checked into our hotel, attended the opening event of our conference and then walked some of the city.

Wednesday was a full day of workshops. Mostly we attended separate ones so we could maximize the information we were taking in.
This was the view from our hotel room as the sun was beginning to set.

At 8AM Avery's middle school held a promotion ceremony for the 8th graders. Though we had counted the cost of moving, we were both a little sad that she missed all of the end-of-year activities with her old school and classmates who she'd known since 1st grade. Its just not the same doing those things with classmates you've only known for months. Regardless, she's officially a high schooler now and she's really excited to dive into all that has to offer.
We were on a different coast, but Amy face timed so that I could witness the ceremony. In addition to Amy and some cousins, Kim, Grandma and Grandpa Tom, Grammy and Bobbi and Pop and Kiki all went to support her. I'm so thankful for family! Avery said she felt so loved.
Such a great general session with lots of great life lessons.
Having been fed very well at the conference, we weren't super hungry for dinner so this sweet little sandwich shop was perfect.

We headed out early to walk some of the city and see the iconic sights...of course the Space Needle!
Peonies are my favorite and since its their season, blooms were abundant!
One last shot before hopping in an Uber and heading to the airport, eventually arriving home at 2AM!

I was up and out early, I met up with my sister-in-laws for a free paddle boarding lesson on the Connecticut River, sponsored by LL Bean. It was such a beautiful morning and we had so much fun!
In the afternoon, the family gathered for our annual Unbirthday Party, which Nana plans and puts on every year, something the kids always look froward to.

Aiden's team made the finals in the town playoffs and they made a big deal about it.
Shaun and Avery were staying updated on the soccer match, watching it was the only thing Shaun really wanted to do for Father's Day but it was at the exact same time as the baseball game. Poor guy.
Some sweet fans came out to watch. :)
These guys and so many others are so blessed to have Shaun in their lives. As a dad, he's involved, purposeful, fun, patient, self-sacrificing. He loves well.
The peonies!!!! And that market. Heaven!
