April's 10 on 10

10 pictures on the 10th day of the month (Tuesday).
{Document a snapshot of your life & find beauty among the ordinary things in your day! }

Most mornings I'm up 4:30-5 so I have time to workout and do my chair time with God before the rest of the house wakes up. Its how I can do the rest of the day with strength and purpose.

How blessed am I to see this face each morning?

On our walk to school we saw daffodils and snow flurries!

With 10 minutes notice I ended up needing to cover the front desk at another office. It was such a gray day, so I brought a candle and a good tea mug (you know the one I'm talking about, Melody ;).

This view for many hours.

When I got home, I found Aiden like this...he barely looked up to acknowledge me.

Soccer practice drop off for the girls.

K was at work and J was at the barn so Aiden and I played Yahtzee and read books.

Dinner was every-man-for-himself, which I dislike, but it gets the job done on nights like this.

Project 365, Week 14

In many regards, this was a tough week. Tax season is wearing and we had some challenges with a child, among other things. I was reminded over and over again of this verse in 2 Corinthians:

Each time he said, "My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness." So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.

This has been proven time and again in my life. Really...His grace is all I need!

April 2
I'm a bit of a Zillow addict...I probably should have been a real estate agent. ;) We've been diligently looking at houses for over a year now, so I've scrolled through many places. This one had an interesting flair.

April 3
My sweet boy and I reading together before bed. He was reading the Action Bible and I was reading Parenting the Powerful Child. :)

April 4
Its good to have a little brother, so you have someone to chase you when you have a friend over. :)

April 5
The Red Sox home opener. Avery is a big, BIG fan!

April 6
Most games end too late, so she (they) check the highlights each morning.

The kids had a half day, but I wasn't able to leave work, so they got permission to watch screens. They like getting all set up.

April 7
We got to celebrate this special guy's 4th birthday. Sarah did such a great job carrying out the theme and making sure every detail was in place. Later, we went back to their house to get some extra time together.

Then we had enough time to get Amanda to her soccer game before church.

Freeze tag. :)

April 8
While Shaun and Amanda went to the office and then soccer, we got up early on this Sunday morning to make a surprise appearance at J's horse show. None of the rest of us "get it" but she is dedicated and passionate and has made huge progress, so we go and support and try to learn things along the way.

This was the final show in this series of three and she won overall first place in her category for the series. So proud!

He Is Risen!

Easter landed on April 1 this year, which is on the early side.  Just in time the snow melted and we squeezed in a warm-ish, sunny day. This same group has been getting together for years now, we just keep adding kids. :)

Many years ago, we quite going to Easter Sunday morning service, giving up our highly-sought-after seats for others. This year our family was split into four different services over the weekend so we didn't get the iconic family Easter photo that I wanted. Knowing that would be the case, I made sure we gathered for 10 seconds after the last performance. Its more authentically Easter than Sunday dresses, right? ;)

I was up before the sun, happily celebrating a risen Savior and preparing for our family. Fresh cinnamon rolls is one way I show love to them. :)

K and Avery were empowered to be the decorating committee, my only part was paying. They did great!

Amanda set up a snowcone stand, which was a huge hit with the kids, except it ended up being a three-person operation, with a screwdriver involved.

Renna's new puppy was a huge hit!

Like I said...we've been busy adding kids...and dogs. :) I'm so very, very grateful all hearts still come home to Auntie's house. :)

We split the big kids into two groups and sent them off on a scavenger hunt.

But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead.
(It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)
