There is something incredibly nostalgic and significant
about the annual cascade of autumn leaves.

The loveliest of days, weather and beauty-wise. So I walked in the morning with the dog and in the afternoon with Aiden. Before we picked up the girls from soccer practice, we stopped at a trail that I had just learned about. It was less hiking trail and more little walking path but there was a neat little building with a door that was just begging to be used in a photo shoot. Aiden was uninterested in being the subject, but instead suggested he be the photographer. And then he told me what a beautiful smile I have and so I crowned him my favorite child. ;)
Morning sun, morning rituals.
There was a COVID case at the high school so the girls did a day of remote learning while contact tracing and deep cleaning were conducted. Finally, there seems to be a workable system in place. They logged into each class at the normal time and had live instruction. The next day they were back in-person. What a blessing that Shaun and I can generally work our schedules such that one of us is home supervising and encouraging. I know that is not the case in many families.
I snapped this photo because it was so wonderfully ordinary. After practice, after work, everyone gathered in the kitchen reviewing the day. Sometimes we have great conversations, sometimes there is arguing but I don't want to take it for granted having the kids around.

Sweet boy.
Love the picture of Ginger. Hope D didn't get his booboo on your clock. Is Aiden stretching Silly Putty across his head??
ReplyDeleteThat picture of Ginger is so great! Might be the first time a picture of a dog is my favorite?!
ReplyDeleteHaha...not silly putty. Its a ripped part of the plastic bag that the newspaper comes in. ;)
ReplyDeleteD came with the (should have been stitches) eye cut. He was jumping at home and caught the corner of his bed.
