Project 365, Week 20

Tennis, soccer, baseball, golf, kickball, more soccer...lots of sports this week. What a blessing to have healthy, active kids!

May 16
Early morning conversations with a toddler...good stuff.

Avery knew Jack would be pitching, so I joined her to watch his game.

Meanwhile, at the golf course, Aiden scored (achieved? made?) his first par!

May 17
Spa-ring!!

The middle school had another concert, their first normal one in several years. The music teacher was giddy about it...mixed feelings from the tweens. With all of them gathered like that, I was reminded how very difficult this time in life can be. I actually enjoyed the relatively short concert but I also spent most of it praying for these poor kids.

May 18
Speaking of school activities, Amanda played in another tennis match. She enjoys playing and looks forward to next year, having some experience under her belt.

I gathered a couple extras to head up to the Mid-Week gathering at our EW campus. We had time to stop for our traditional Wednesday Chick-fil-A. Love hanging with the kids!

I stayed for a bit to watch their outdoor time, which was a rousing game of kickball. These two dispel the myth that pastors are stuffy and don't have fun. So grateful for our awesome staff.

May 19
Now that we're in the quieter part of the year, we've got a bunch of project going. One of mine is updating our website...to that end, I gathered our crew for headshots (everyone was very excited ;)

(Amanda grabbed the camera for a few)

Amanda had soccer tryouts for a premier team. I stayed to watch and walk the dog on a beautiful evening.

When we got home Aiden was cooking his eggs, like he does several nights a week when he doesn't like dinner. I laughed at him in his flannel pjs and robe...he's an old man! :)

May 20

After taking several weeks off, TBQ met again with our new books for the new season.

The kids so sweetly got Katie and I flowers as a 'thank you' for being their leaders. We love doing it and pour many hours into it every week and it is a great privilege for both of us.

May 21
Low key Saturday.

May 22
Jay stopped by for a bit, it was so good to get some porch time with her. We took a picture because Avery wasn't home and its my only one of the day.

May's 10 on 10

10 pictures on the 10th day (Tuesday) of the month!
{Document a snapshot of your life...find beauty among the ordinary things in your day!}

If the sunrise is especially special I will spend my quiet morning time in the front of the house instead of the back porch.

The variety and quantity of exercises I can do is slowly increasing, but for now I do it barefoot to remind myself to not overdue it.

I mill around while the kids get ready for school in a flurry. Sometimes they offer more than a grunted 'good morning' but usually its just about being in the same space together.

When its not tax season, I normally have about two hours at home after the kids have gone to school and before I head into the office. Leaving the kitchen clean is usually a part of my routine.

I love my office space...bright sun pouring in through the bank of windows and flowers out front.

Amanda was heading to a tennis match so I sat out in the warm sun for a few minutes and got to wave to her. :)

This is the photo that comes up when Dakota's mom calls me. I'm so grateful for our undefinable relationship....she has grown my heart and taught me so many things. This day we chatted about several things and she said, Dakota told me, 'I want to go visit my aunt who lives far away'. Ha!

I usually just order books ahead of time, but we still love to just walk the aisles, taking in the goodness that is the library. All those places to visit, adventures to be had, people to meet, things to learn...all waiting within the pages of those books.

For $4.99, someone else shops the aisles of the grocery store, checks out and bags, and then loads my family's food into my car. I've never waited more than 5 minutes once I arrive and never once has anything been missing. Its life-changing.

A smile, however shortly lived, at pickup after an away tennis match.

We ran an errand in our old town and I still know where the prettiest places are and when they'll be in bloom so we went a little out of our way to take it in.

Back when he needed the accountability, Aiden started brushing his teeth with me in my bathroom. Now he's a regular brusher and even flosses everyday, but he still stops by for a chat most nights. We talk about school, TBQ, a book, an event in history, Pokemon cards, life.

Project 365, Week 19

I am still getting used to our slower pace (but very much thankful for it!). I did plenty of smelling roses this week and it makes my soul happy.

May 9
Spring is delightful!

May 10
Pretty, pretty morning light.

May 11
Avery bought my car several months ago and it had a radio that hadn't worked in two years. We tried taking it somewhere to get fixed but it was unfixable and also a huge hassle. She and Shaun decided they would buy one and install it themselves, which they did, successfully.

We went to our church's Night of Worship and got to hear the youth pastor speak for the last time before he moves out of state.

May 12
Got to sit out on a beautiful evening and watch my favorite goalie.

May 13
We went out to my dad's and Aiden was delighted to fly his drone. I love these photos of the two of them together. I'm so grateful for the relationship they've had. Pop and Kiki have been working on their yard and there are pockets and corners of beauty throughout.

Pretty sunset on a favorite stretch of road.

May 14
Same stretch of road, this time the sunrise, on our way to the Farmer's Market for our annual annuals trip. SO many beautiful flowers on a lovely spring morning.

Back at the house, our Saturday was in full swing with a brake job, planting, soccer and the first mowing of the season. Yay for spring!!

May 15
This was my only photo. Its at the entrance of our neighborhood and I was struck by the vibrant whites, blues and greens.
