My hopes of waiting until after the holidays to start treatment were dashed, so we picked it back up this week, ready or not. For whatever reason, this was a rough round and therefore a tough week for all involved.
November 18
It was disheartening to be back at the cancer center to re-start treatments. But, I was happy to have Avery with me. As far as travel and logistics, it was one of the easiest days. We left the house at 5 AM and we were back before noon.
November 19
No picture. It was a great mercy that I slept much of the day.
November 20
Shaun took my chemo pump off early in the day and I made my way down to the living room. After school, Aiden went out and played with the dog and it made me happy to watch him play with a ball, a bat and a loyal dog.
November 21
I rallied for two hours so Shaun and I could attend Aiden's soccer banquet.
November 22
Avery made a dessert for Friendsgiving at youth group and help distribute food.
Aiden went to New Jersey with the TBQ team for a weekend tournament. Colombo sent some pictures and updates, along with a couple other coaches.
November 23
Nice and early on a Saturday morning!
The national champs were present, along with some other impressive teams, but the kids did okay. Its such a brave thing to take a seat at that table.
November 24
Aiden's second faucet replacement, with Shaun's (and Ginger's guidance).
Avery took an open opportunity to get some outdoor lights up.
We were expecting Amanda home for Thanksgiving break on Monday around 10 PM. Instead, she just walked right in the door a day early and surprised both Shaun and I. What a happy thing!!
I'm not sure how it came about, but she tried on my wedding dress. I've always thought it was too early-1990's for either of the girls to be interested, but Amanda is quite sentimental and sees potential. We all agreed the sleeves, starting at the poof on down, would have to come off, for starters.
Having the girls home for the evening was a bright way to end a difficult week.
