This was my "off week" but pain required me to carefully pick and choose the activities I participated in. Pictures, journaling gratitude...some of the things that help me keep perspective.
December 9
Aiden and his crew are playing in a flag football league. Its perfect for them! Though I wasn't there, Aiden had lots to share the next morning and Meg had pictures covered.
December 10
Avery brought up the Christmas bins and they started to deck the halls.
December 11
I took Aiden to midweek so I could get the drive with him. We enjoyed looking at the Christmas lights but agreed there seems to be less participation this year. Maybe because Thanksgiving was so late? The election? Cost of utilities? Anyway, we captured it better in our minds eye than with the phone.
December 12
Its almost routine now, but still good to pause for recognition and celebration. Nathan's franchise was named top 25 of all H&R Block's. To share the honor, he took the staff of all four offices to dinner and a show. We saw MJ the Musical in Hartford and it was great! Very creative and the dancing was outstanding.
December 13
Amanda came home for Christmas break with Semester 1 under her belt. Makes me happy to look down the hall and see that her room is occupied. For a handful of nights for the rest of life, all five of us are sleeping under one roof. Its a heart-wrenchingly sweet moment in time.
December 14
Since both Amanda and Sarah were home (two of Avery's bridesmaids), we went wedding dress shopping. She didn't find "the one", but got a very clear picture of what she's looking for. My baby!
Having the kids home for the evening, listening from the other room as they laugh and fool around, makes me so happy. Jack made sugar cookies and everyone decorated.
December 15
Sunday afternoon was slow and quiet. With treatment scheduled the following day, it was one of my last days to wrap up Christmas prep, at least the little I'm physically able to do.
