Project 365, Week 23

With school over, this felt like to summer kickoff. Its my favorite season because I really like being warm. Lots of other reasons too. :)

June 9
He went for one hour of one final and then, just like that, Aiden's done with 10th grade.

I've always loved the end of the school year when I can get my kids back. For a split second I was excitedly thinking about time spent at the river and splash pad and then I quickly remembered...zero of my children are available or would be interested in splashing or throwing rocks or braving the rope swing.

Amy drove me to New York to meet with a new doctor, this time the pain management pros. For fun, we got caught in evening rush hour and gps took us off-roading for a tour of CT.

On the way home, I picked up a pizza to celebrate the last day of school. There is no greater gift I could give my boy.

June 10
Aiden is becoming quite accomplished in the kitchen. He's the main chef in our house now.

June 11
Amanda was babysitting and checked in with her little friend. Silly girls.

Lots of 11's and faces I love.

June 12
His legos, his bible, learner's permit paperwork and a classic novel he's working through.

June 13
Avery's old room got taken over. He's working on repairing sets, sorting pieces and figuring out what to sell, what to keep. I'm amazed by the resale value!

June 14
We went to Rhode Island for a soccer tournament, the biggest one I've ever seen with 360 teams!

The first game was dry, the second one was not.

We went to look at a lakefront property in our town. Its rare that they come on the market so we jumped at it. After "the committee" talked through numbers and thoughts, we decided to make an offer. We felt is was a solid one, but someone else's was taken and we missed out.

June 15
Avery and Jack came over the night before and we had a nice time together for Father's Day and this day after church, the kids worked hard with Shaun to do some garage clean out.

Amanda was sweet to tag along for Day 2 of the tournament so she could hang with Shaun. The first game was a reffing disaster and we did not advance to the finals, which also ended his season with this team. Aiden had a great experience with a quality coach and kids who played like a team.
