Project 365, Week 37

Being part of life...in all the wonderful and mundaneness of it. All is grace.

September 8
Amy and I did a quick roadtrip to upstate NY to see the Boyds, who were just crawling out of the bunker they've lived in for the past couple months as my uncle, and the care team comprised of my aunt and cousin, did the work to recover from triple bypass surgery.

Did my boys miss me? No, they did not.

September 9
It was a very slow, very short, very heart-filling time.

Amanda's roommate this year is from Australia, so she didn't come with much more than a suitcase. She loves to play guitar and was borrowing Amanda's when she could. I thought it'd be great if she could have one of her own for the school year so I asked my dad if he'd help me find a quality guitar at a budget price.

As is his way, he took the whole project on, including delivery to PA! Pop and Kiki stopped in for lunch with Amanda and then presented her roommate with the guitar, an unexpected and overwhelming surprise. So fun!!

Since I was out of town, Avery took Aiden to his flight lesson and then tracked his flight. :)

September 10
Found Amanda online! She's settling into the new school year, which in many ways looks different than last year, mostly by intention on her part. Amanda feels the both/and of life very deeply there. She is so certain she's where she's supposed to be and she really loves her time there AND she misses home every day and can't wait to be back.

September 11
It was time...returns of unused material from the lake house project. Despite it being a pain in the neck, Aiden was a really great sport about it. Incidentally, so was June the cashier, an unexpected grace.

September 12
Siding progress at the office. Its always a treat to get time with our friend Jason. We go back many decades.

Speaking of many decades...this end-of-summer tradition is almost plural decades long. Just really grateful for these hearts.

Trevor is a gatherer and initiator. He came home from school for an album drop party and the boys were quick to jump in. I'm so happy for any time this group gets together.

September 13
I thought the golf course pictures were so pretty, and they are. But the lake pictures have been stunning. You just never know where Shaun will be at 6 AM.

It's a dying art maybe, men standing around shooting the breeze.

School work or youtube? In these early weeks of online dual enrollment, we're working through time management and self-discipline skills. Its tough, but Ginger's doing her part to be a support.

Shaun and I attended a fundraising dinner for a ministry we care about, Athletes in Action. Each table centerpiece was a different sport.

September 14
Three cheers for September Sunday afternoons!
