Treatment on Monday knocked me out for several days so Avery (and others) took some pictures to help me fill in some blanks of the week.
A few days earlier I commented to Shaun, isn't it nice that we aren't in the middle of a big house project like we used to be every year right before Christmas? And then, before I even knew what was happening, he was at the store buying paint to redo the living room. He and the kids worked together throughout the week on it and we did indeed have a nice, fresh room for Christmas. It's where I spend much of time and now its light and bright.

When Amanda found out I was having treatment while she was home on break she asked if she could take me and Avery came too. Its a very hard day, with awful sights, sounds and smells. I can't even imagine what its like to be a kid bringing your parent for treatment. These are brave girls!

Avery was babysitting and brought the kids back to the house.
Jack came by and helped on the living room project.

Shaun found a way to watch the UCONN game.

I came downstairs for the first time to find my recliner in the kitchen...
While I was trying to feel better, it was nice to be amidst the household activity.
Broncos game. :)

The snow was so pretty.
The annual youth group Christmas party with the theme 24K gold.
The crew came back to the house, sharing stories and happy to be together after a semester apart.

One of Aiden's classmates/teammates told him his CFC (premier team) was looking for a goalie. Aiden corresponded with the coach and went to the first practice, where he discovered the team is actually split into two teams for indoor play purposes, so just like that, he has a practice and two games a week as the only goalie. Its a great opportunity for him and he's super excited about it. I was happy to be able to catch a game.

Cour Christmas day! This year was unique because we had Nana there for the first time ever. Sarah and Tony do a great job hosting and providing a space for us all to gather.
We played games, laughed, ate yummy food, opened presents and just enjoyed time together. We realized we've been doing Christmas this way for 18 years! What a blessing.

Every year I make a picture calendar for the grandparents. Often, many of the pictures are from our trip to Florida in April. As Shaun was looking at the pictures with Nana, I marveled at how quickly life can change. Months earlier she was living in Florida with her husband as she had for many decades and now she lives in Connecticut as a widow and the life in those photos are just a memory.
