Project 365, Week 25

This week there are lots of reno pictures. With school being out, its definitely what our time is consumed with. We're anxious to get out of the space we're currently in and anxious to not have the project hanging over our heads. But also, its a lot. What I like about it is, even though there is arguing and grumbling, its good to get the together time.

June 14
Love it when the house is full of friends.

June 15
Decisions. So many decisions. But made easier by my sweet little committee.

Evening soccer, watching Amanda do what her body was created to do. Beyond soccer skills, she's learning how to deal with controversy and things that are unfair.

We caught the sunset on the ride home. A gift.

June 16

Maddy had a spare couple of hours and offered to come give her assistance. She consulted on some design elements and helped us make some big decisions. Also, she's just a fun, sweet presence to have around.

The sweetest crew walking to the car after TBQ.

June 17

Entirely too many decisions, made more challenging by the long lead times on things like windows and doors and the prices are outrageous. Makes me thankful the scope of our project is relatively small.

June 18

We called this "The Last Supper". The last night for the three of us to go out to dinner together while the girls are at youth group. Impossibly, now that he's going into 7th grade, he be joining the girls every Friday night at church.

He picked Ted's Montana Grill because they serve bison steak. Because naturally, he loves bison. ;)

June 19
I got to sit and be a soccer mom early on this Saturday morning. It was a "friendly" so he switched teams at half time. Coffee and donuts were at the field and I finished a couple podcasts.

We pay the kids if they work at an apartment building or the office. They've been working really hard and today was payday. I took them to the bank and we figured out how much goes into savings, to charity and for spending.

Aiden loves a good slo-mo video so we did some takes of Dumpster Javelin Throwing, the next Olymipic sport.

Sunday began our time away so I'll include it with the next post.

June's 10 on 10

10 pictures on the 10th day (Thursday) of the month!
{Document a snapshot of your life...find beauty among the ordinary things in your day!}

Pulled the kids out of bed at 545am and went to the farm on the hill for a view of the solar eclipse.

Since we were up, Amanda and I went to the office. I worked and she cleaned.

Had a small tax season de-briefing. My husband and brother-in-laws constantly amaze me with their work ethic, superior customer service and respect for people from all walks of life. Three brothers, three different styles, three very loyal followings.

Post-hair salon. Most of the reason I've stuck with this stylist is because she never shames me for only showing up twice a year.

Back at the ranch...

Our friend and marketing person came over to finalize some things on our new branding for the business.

Tear down, reconfigure, rebuild.

We almost always bring Ginger to the building and she sticks close by, following us in and out. A little time went by and we realized she suddenly wasn't around. We looked for her extensively, with no luck. My neighbor texted me a Facebook post. Ginger had ventured out onto the VERY busy road and someone very kind picked her up and posted on the town page.

Even after getting up so early and working hard all day, somehow Shaun and the kids had enough energy left to go practice soccer together. While they were there I grilled dinner and coordinated getting Ginger back. At one point I thought I might have to pay a ransom.

Finally, we met at the agreed upon location and Ginger, who'd been fed and bathed and had playtime with other dogs, showed no remorse.

My entry way...it won't always be this way.

Shaun and the kids snuck in a brief workout while watching soccer.

Project 365, Week 24

Love getting extra time with the kids...they're at such great ages and I'm looking forward to the summer with them.

June 7
I have fond memories of helping my dad snap the chalk line. :)

June 8
Last day of school for Aiden (the girls had finished the week before). Aiden and Amanda both maneuvered their first year of middle and high school like champs. I'm so grateful for how our town handled a very tricky Covid year. We were in person, five days a week from the start, snow day were remote half days. They wore masks and backpacks all day and , sadly, Aiden's chorus class was not allowed to sing all year. This disappointed him not at all.

One of our neighbors hosted a pool party to mark the end of school for lots and lots of kids.

But for sure it wouldn't be the end without a trip to DQ, which we did as a family.

June 9
Sunset.

June 10
Sweetest little bicycle planter.

June 11
Amanda landed a consistent, lucrative babysitting job here in our neighborhood for two boys, 8 and 10. She's really enjoying it and is working really hard to do it well. She sent me a photo of her at the lake with them. Her beautiful smile made me smile.

June 12

Looking for beauty because I was struggling to see it.

At the last minute we asked Rocco to play so we'd have enough players to not forefit. It was his first ever soccer game...and he scored!

I recognized the center ref, too. ;)

Then we worked...

After church, we had a nice dinner and Depot run with just Shaun and I and the girls.
