This was a full, exciting week! After more than a year, we opened our doors in the new office and the girls played three playoff games, all of which went into overtime. The weather has been incredible and its still SO pretty everywhere.
November 8
Opening Day at the new office, ready or not! It was so exciting to have reached the point that we could be open for business. It was also a bit chaotic with hammers going and saws running and most of our belongings in boxes. Still, it was good to be there!

November 9
I've mentioned our contractor is also a good friend of many years. He's a few years younger and when he was in high school he started working with/for Shaun while we rehabbed our first home. When he graduated they did more projects together. It was meaningful for him to see his son and ours, both the same age, working on a roof job, just as he and Shaun did so many times all those years ago. Long-time friends are rare and special.
States playoffs, Game #1. This one included overtime and then two rounds of PKs and we pulled our the win!
November 9
We hosted the pasta party at our house. It fills my heart to have a houseful of people. Per Amanda's request I made myself scarce, but I was able to hear the squeals and laughter and kids being kids.
November 10
Round two of playoff and another overtime game. And they won!
My morning walk.
It was Veteran's Day so some of the kids had school off. We pulled Aiden out of school and Amy came over with a couple kids. They worked really hard, especially on the outside. At one point they had three leaf blowers going! Amy worked on the kitchen and bathroom painting, which required a ton of cutting.
Its a good sign that games have started to be pulled out again.
The girls had to be at the school early to catch the bus so naturally I stopped off at the lake after dropping them...so peaceful on this autumn Saturday morning.
Round #3 of state playoffs and another overtime game. Avery played 95 minutes, and with her bad hamstring. The coach of the team who ultimately won the whole thing was standing next to us for some of the game. He made a comment that Avery was "a work horse"...what a high compliment! We lost the game but celebrated a great season. What a joy it is for Shaun and I to watch the kids play. So proud of the hard work they've put in and they ways they've grown.
After we served at church Avery and I did some furniture shopping for the office and stopped for a date. It was great to get some one-on-one time...she's good company!
