Project 365, Week 14

Another week of changes and uncertainty. A week of heartbreak and trusting. A week of togetherness and distance. A week of seeing human weakness and the human spirit at its best. A week of looking for ways to be a blessing and wishing there was more that could be done. We settled into our new normal, while nothing is normal at all.

March 30
The package store next door to our office switched to curbside pickup only. It was highly entertaining from my perch at the front desk to watch the patrons figure it all out. Where there's a will, there's a way, as they say.

We've played roughly 732 games in the past couple weeks. Catan is the easily the most played and, unlike most games, we can actually beat Shaun at this one.

You could argue that Aiden's most recent Lego purchase was an investment in sanity. :)

March 31
Youth group small groups have done a nice job checking in regularly and setting up video calls.

Lots of chats with cousins. :)

April 1
We went to the high school track and did a family fun run. Aiden finished the 3 miles first!

April 2
Cousin chats. :)

April 3
Avery texted me to stay at work longer because they were working on a couple surprises. I was slightly worried, but when I got home, Amanda had made (yummy!) cookies and they worked together to clean up. So sweet!

Members of our family threw out a challenge to remake some famous painting. There were some amazing submissions, this was one of ours.

April 4
Fishing season opened early this year and today was Shaun and Aiden's first time out. All they came back with was a little flower for me. :)

Yard work! I'm not very good at it, but I do enjoy the outdoor exercise and the immediate sense of accomplishment and, unlike cleaning the kitchen, the results are long-ish lasting.

Only his second time at it, but Aiden is pretty skilled with the hedge trimmers.

April 5
Another quiet day and another couple hours of yard work....amazingly everyone cooperated and had fun. (I had camera issues...its a long story.)

  1. I'll just copy and paste your post! Our weeks looked nearly identical! I'm impressed that Aiden was the winner of the 3 miles! P.S. Your intro is spot on!
