It's March!

It's March and that means that Spring is within sight!  I think I can, I think I can...

Flowers appear on the earth;
the season of singing has come,
the cooing of doves is heard in our land.

Song of Solomon 2:12

A Visit to the Zoo

We declared a family day on Sunday so we skipped out on church and headed for the zoo about an hour away. It is really sweet that both girls make a special note whenever the four of us are doing something together. Avery will say, "We're like a family!" and then Amanda will say, "Daddy and Amanda and A-ree and Momma...and Daddy!

At each exhibit, Amanda asked if she could go in with whatever animal it was and then it turned into asking if she could go in the water of each exhibit. It was an out-of-the-blue 90 degree day, so we were happy to find this water.

All's well that ends well, as they say.

Spring IS coming

We hit 60 degrees today, so the girls and I donned our sweatshirts and headed out to one of our favorite hangouts. I wimped out and drove the 1-1.5miles because it was so windy (not good for contacts!). Avery kept saying, "I've never been to the park before! I've never gone on the swings before" and its true...it did feel like we've been shut in for a long winter.

I delighted in hearing their squeals after the first big push and as a bonus we had a friend show up that we were not expecting. Good times and so nice to know we are on THIS side of winter!

"...Blessed be the name of God, forever and ever. He knows all, does all: He changes the seasons and guides history, He raises up kings and also brings them down, he provides both intelligence and discernment, He opens up the depths, tells secrets, sees in the dark—light spills out of him! God of all my ancestors, all thanks! all praise!..." Daniel 2:19
