Project 365, Week 38

September is such a great month, even though it can sometimes feel like its not because it kicks off the school year. But the weather is great and the routine is healthy and we have a full calendar full of good things. What a joy to chase our kids around!

September 19
The girls played half a game under the lights before it got called off because of lightning.

September 20
Aiden and I were treated to the best view on our morning walk with Ginger.

September 21
Another beautiful display at church while dropping off the kids.

September 22
My beautiful girl...first day with Invisalign...we're doing our part to support the local orthodontist. :)

September 23
First cool soccer game, but the tradeoff is the beautiful colors that are beginning to appear. As first half keeper, I'm not sure Aiden touched the call once.

We had a lovely evening with very dear friends, who we also call family. So grateful.

September 24
Teen Bible Quiz day! My friend Katie and I started this group in March 2020, not having a clue what we were doing. After just two practices, everything shut down so we pivoted to distance practices. The kids have been so patient with us as we've learned the ropes and changed up our methods dozens of times. We've never felt particularly qualified, especially when it comes to attempts at keeping it fun, but we both have a deep love of God's word. We are amazed and grateful when the kids show up for another week. We feel completely inadequate, but its been such a gift to be with this group.

Its a long, winding story, but this day marked a new beginning. The first time TBQ has been in our church's district in over 17 years! We had around 40 students from 4 different church make up 12 teams who competed against each other. Katie especially worked diligently these past couple months to see it come to fruition.

It was very emotional to stand back and witness what God has done with out 5 loaves and 2 fish. Its so true that when we let God "steal our show", He takes our life and makes it much grander and more meaningful than we ever could on our own. We came away from the day with full hearts, new friends and a vision of great things to come.

September 25
Lazy afternoon of football, or at least for me it was. I think I took about three naps, recovering from the day before. For the rest of the crew running a fantasy football team or five, maybe not so relaxing. :)
