Project 365, Week 16

We finished up the business of taxes and pivoted to wedding! and Easter! and...not taxes!

April 14
We still had Dakota from over the weekend but two very busy days of tax season left. My niece Renna readily agreed to watch him for the two day and when they dropped him off at the end of a long day, Amy also brought trays of food for our family. What an absolute treat and love spoken!

"Aiden and I made a deal. If I read one page, he reads the rest." It is very cute to listen to a new reader read (particularly when you don't have to do it for 15 minutes everyday. 😉)

April 15
They spent some of the day making cookies for the office and brought them with a sweet card.

All. done. Just when you think you can't do another day, its over. Just kidding, we go beyond that mark, but only by a couple weeks. What a treat to work with family (and friends).

And poor Shaun has a BTW (by the way) birthday every year. We celebrated with take-out and a movie.

April 16
The next morning we switched gears from taxes to the wedding just a month away. I decided on my dress out of the many I'd had shipped and Avery and I did some fun wedding errands. It was so great to be together and we both agreed it felt weird to be "out in the wild".

The flower stand is back out and it delights me greatly.

The boys have their own version of fun.

April 17
First of the season! My good morning text from Shaun from the golf course. I'm so happy he gets out most days and its sweet that he's thinking of me.

Also first of the season...a trip to the greenhouse.

More wedding errands...rings, tailor and beginning the search for Shaun's suit.

April 18
We built in a little time to be able to stop at Square Peg for lunch. We all agreed it was a great meal. Best of all, Avery and Jack's apartment is about a minute away.

Shaun and Aiden got to see it for the first time. Even with the very few belongings they have there, Avery has it set up so sweetly. They're going to have so much fun this year as they settle in.

Another (failed) try at suits before Shaun started his 6-hour shuttle duty for The Passion.

Even with Easter being so late, its a tough turnaround time to make our yard look like winter never happened. I'm the only one who enjoys working on it, though I can't do much. Everyone else just does it because it has to be done (or their dad told them they had to).

I laughed when I came on this picture of Amanda's roommate. She borrowed Amanda's sweatshirt, Amanda borrowed it from Shaun, Shaun got it 20 (?) years ago and still it lives on. Just doing our part. 😁

April 19

The crew of boys are or will be 16 years old this year. Kinda crazy.

Amanda was really sad to be missing Easter at home but since she was coming home in six days for the summer, it just didn't make sense. She checked in with on our ride to Saturday Easter service so we snapped a full family photo.

Most weeks during service a short video is played of someone sharing their story about how they met Jesus, what He means to them, what he's done. Every single one ends with the line, Jesus changed my life and I'll never be the same and every single time its gets me. A real encounter with Jesus is a changed life.

Easter Sunday! It was so many people and so much fun. I'll do a photo dump soon.

And if Christ was not raised then neither our preaching nor your faith has any meaning at all
