Projecy 365, Week 44

Somehow we closed out October and marched right into November. Like the downslope of a roller coaster, time seems to gain speed during this phase of the year. I'm trying to take it all in and keep what's important, important.

October 27
Nana is part of a singing group at her place and they had a little concert that was actually quite good. In her day, she was a soloist and choir enthusiast.

October 28
Amanda's class traveled to New York City to be part of the midweek service at Times Square Church. As details unfolded, we discovered there would be little opportunity to get time with her. Still, we wanted to support her and hug her.

Knowing we'd be passing by the cancer center en route to NYC, I booked an appointment. Its a weird life when, at any given time there is a line of doctors that you can see. This time it was pain management and, because there has been so much improvement, we decided to leave things as they are.

Once in downtown, we parked and headed straight to the church.

In no time, we had connected with Amanda. Security was tight, so two men escorted her out a side door and we had five minutes together on the sidewalk. We all counted it better than nothing.

We said goodbye to her and then set out to spend some time in a city that is layered with emotion for us. At one point, I looked back to find Shaun engaged in conversation with a stranger. After hearing his story, Shaun invited him to the evening service two blocks away. :)

What a moment to see Amanda on the stage of a former theater on Broadway, worshipping her creator. It is a miracle. Jesus has changed her life and transformed her heart in a way that only He could do. God answers prayer, He changes lives.

They sang What a God, a song I'd had on repeat all week long.

Your love has changed my life, forever satisfied. God, you are my everything

October 29

When we did a major office renovation in 2021, there were some things left undone. Avery and I decided it was time to make the break room work better for our use. She's a wiz at putting furniture together!

October 30
She even roped Jack in to coming after work to do a couple projects.

October 31
This day means Harvest Fest at our church, an all-hands-on-deck endeavor. Its so fun when there's an opportunity to serve as a family. Shaun and Avery worked the shuttles, Jack and Aiden and Jason did games and I took pictures as we welcomed a couple thousand people from the community.

Hi Renna 👋

November 1
Bible Quiz, Meet #2. Listening to teenagers quote scripture is one of my favorite things. At just the time I need it, I am regularly reminded of verses I have committed to memory and so many times it has carried me. (Its also so fun to be with family!)

Aiden and I joined in the Fall Family Work Weekend at the lake house doing fall cleanup/winter prep.

November 2
We set the clocks back and now it will be dark and cold forever.
