Project 365, Week 45

The kids had one full day and three half days off of school and we were barreling towards our November 5th move date for the office. Lots of very long days in a string of months of very long days. We are so ready to be DONE with it, but we continue to find our "dig deep", something that's very useful to have in many areas of life.

November 1
I realized it was All Saints Day, which was a big deal when the kids were going to Catholic school. Each year the 3rd grade class would do a big project and presentation, each kid picking a different Saint. What a gift that school was...we all miss those days!

I can't remember where I was coming from when creation was looking sooo gorgeous...very likely Home Depot.

Game. :) Avery sat out to rest her hamstring but Amanda got some minutes on the field.

November 2

Because of Election Day, the kids had school off. Avery helped me load the trailer full of garbage which cleared out the "catch all" room and much of the yard.

In the afternoon the kids had friends over and it made me smile to see this scene in my entry.

Jason and Shaun put together a masterpiece for the front desk. Especially special is that the top counter was made from wood that Shaun's grandfather gave him many years ago.

Amy knew we were working with a deadline and gave up several afternoons to do some painting for us. She's such a good show-upper (and fixer-upper! ;).

Scenes from the day.

November 4

After the close of business, we went to the old office and got what we could with the car and pickup truck. Conveniently, the new office is just across the street. When we took one of the loads, we caught a stunning sunset and Avery insisted that we take a couple minutes to enjoy it at the farm. I'm so glad she did. Life is too short to not stop and stand amazed at God's workmanship.

My brakes were so bad my car was not drivable, so Avery and I ran out to get parts and Aiden and Shaun replaced them at 10pm.

November 5

Big day!! The movers came at 8:30 and by 10:30 they were done and the old office was completely cleared out.

We had a crew there, trying to get computers hooked up and things put away.

Pretty drive to TBQ practice.

November 6

We loaded up two vehicles and hit the road at 7am for our meet in New Hampshire.

Then we were back at our house for the event that they'd earned with points, which ended up being wiffle ball and pumpkin carving.

November 7
Big work day at the building to be as ready as we could be to open the door for business Monday morning.
