Project 365, Week 46

This week found us away at a financial services conference. At first just Shaun was going to go, but then we saw my treatment schedule lined up perfectly for me to go and since Amanda's birthday is later this month, we offered to extend the trip a couple days and bring her along. Her dream was to "chill" and I think that was accomplished. We had a very full couple of days but so much fun.

November 14
I was feeling good and the hotel gym was one of the best I've used.

A beautiful view of the morning sun appearing from our room.

Breakfast started at 7 AM and everyone was ready to go! The guys were checking the event app to see the schedule for the day.

The main sessions had a wide range of speakers, from bad to great, but the breakout sessions we all did were full of helpful, relevant, inspiring information.

During our lunch break, I checked on the non-conference gang. They were living their best life. Hanging out in hotel rooms, swimming in the pool, eating at the attached food court, riding elevators.

We took a short, brisk walk from the hotel to the restaurant, where we met up with our nephew Jared, who just moved down to Atlanta a couple months ago. It was so great to see him! He is also a licensed financial advisor so he was able to follow the "shop" talk.

November 15
Another full day of conference and really great food!

Jon Acuff was a standout. I love the quote on this slide..."One of the greatest mistakes is assuming all your thoughts are true."

What a team! Grateful for God's favor, for the way each person has come on board. They are hardworking, always wanting to know more and do better, unconcerned about staying in the confines of their job description, but willing to do what it takes for the greater good. We had a really enjoyable couple days together.

Our travel was staggered again, the first wave headed out about 6PM, leaving just me and two of the sweetest boys for the evening.

November 16
We were at the airport early, with plenty of time for people watching. Some strange things happen before the sun comes up!

November 17
Playing catch up after missing two days of school.

November 18
I was at the office during school hours, wanting to implement all the things we learned at conference, all at the same time (didn't happen).

It was Amy's birthday and I had all the feels about that. Predominately, gratitude for all these decades together.

November 19
The boys having breakfast together after a birthday "sleep"over.

Avery is our outdoor Christmas lights expert and she wanted to get a jump on the project.

Then we headed to my sister's for our side of the family's Thanksgiving. It was a lovely day of being together, lingering at the table, laughing, loving.

November 20
Amanda had four friends over for a Friendsgiving. She coordinated and put it all together on her own!

Then she and I set out to get the food shopping that could be done ahead of time done. Our time together was really special.
