Project 365, Week 12

Aiden told me it feels like we've been in the 20's of March for forever. Sometimes it works that way.

March 20
Six years ago, we suddenly found ourselves with six children. Once it became apparent that they'd be staying a while, we traded in the Acadia that I loved for an 8-passenger Suburban. Days after bringing the it home, we loaded it with people and suitcases and road-tripped to Florida.

It served us well for many years as the faces in the seats changed as children came and went. Over this past year we have spent many thousands of dollars trying to keep the old vehicle alive, but finally it was time. It saddened me a bit, as it felt like the ending of an era but also I know that is the way with things.

First time loaded up...

...last time loaded up.

Over the past year Shaun has researched on and off but our time was getting shorter. The dealership we like to work with had a single Acadia that essentially fit what we were looking for. The kids and I went to test drive it and it was approved by all.

Good-bye, Suburban.

March 21
This was the verse of the day on an app. "Planted", from this passage was my One Word for 2021 so it will always be very special to me.

March 22
Treatment days are possible because of the support and care of those who love me...without that, I couldn't/wouldn't go. It was x-rays and treatment day, with a hope that this #16 could be the last for a bit.

Amy is a trenches girl. If there was a fire, she'd be the one running towards it to pull people out. Countless times for countless people, she's been the first one to show up with a meal or to babysit or to sit in a waiting room, pacing and praying. She makes herself available and always knows what to do in really difficult situations. I'm beyond grateful she's mine.

It is a great delight to have "from this day" photos pop up. What a difference a few years make!

March 25
Amanda and I went to pick up the new car, I noticed the the "trunk" of this large plant in the showroom.

March 26
With a significant lack of enthusiasm, Aiden helped me begin our spring cleanup efforts.
