Project 365, Week 47

“But there is always a November space after the leaves have fallen when she felt it was almost indecent to intrude on the woods…for their glory terrestrial had departed and their glory celestial of spirit and purity and whiteness had not yet come upon them.”
~LM Montgomery

November 16
Because of an overnight storm, the bus wasn't able to come, so the kids got more time with D before I left to drop him off.

Seeing these two lined up on my kitchen floor got me thinking...so often we don't know when the last time will be. The last time you step on a lego, the last time a doll is fed, the last time a bedtime story is read, the last time you wait at the bus stop together. The present can be hard and chaotic, but it is also beautiful. R2D2 and Mufasa are here to remind us to breathe in and take joy in the present  (and also to watch where we're walking with bare feet ;).

November 17
Last game of the season in a playoff game of sorts.

I thought it was so sweet that Aiden paused during his ball boy duties to make sure I had turned around to see the setting sun behind us. I had. ;)

Math & science, dads & daughters...the struggle and the sweetness.

November 18
The girls happen to be in a Food Prep class together at school. Because of Covid, they brought all the ingredients home and filmed themselves making it step-by-step. The pie was not a big hit.

November 19
Amanda tried out for a new soccer team that she can play on during the winter and off-season of high school ball. She was so nervous, but did great. A couple of her closest friends are on the team already so that's a big help.

The coaches and girls were willing to do masks and be far apart and weather 40 degree temps, but days after this the governor shut down all club sports. Its a tough decision to understand.

November 20
Beautiful walking day.

Went on a date with my two boys and the shopping area was enchanting with all the Christmas lights.

November 21
The weather was perfect, the day's schedule open so we worked all day raking and stringing up the lights. There was some fighting, but mostly the kids worked really hard and cooperated.

November 22
We stopped by Pop and Kiki's house and we all got to try out his new tractor. So fun!

  1. The looks on the girls' faces making that pie - hahahaha! Why was it gross? It looks good (like a pumpkin pie). Maybe it just needed a mountain of cool whip on top :)
