And this is her little guy now. Oh, how he has grown!
We had a nice visit and I actually had the extra special privilege of seeing her entire immediate family...what a treat. This family has been so dear to me since Shelva and I first became inseparable about 18 years ago...yikes!
In some regards we are similar, but in most ways we are very different yet somehow we've found a way to (somewhat effortlessly) be the best of friends. Although distance and time constraints make it difficult to stay in contact, we always seem to pick up where we left off. That is one of the many things I treasure about our friendship.
Until about...oh, four years ago, we both swore we didn't want children but God, in His infinite wisdom blessed us anyway and its so fun learning about each other in our new roles. Today I'm so thankful for true friendships, for Shelva and for her dear family.

Aren't good friends an amazing blessing?! I've been best of friends with 2 girlfriends since we were in 3nd grade....we don't see each other very often due to distance, but we just know we can count on each other ...and have a fantastic time when we do get together!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet story. I have a few friends just like that. And Shelva's little guy... so cute. Does this mean I shouldn't blink because mine is growing just as fast. Why do they have to do that?
