Uncle Nathan and Laryssa bought ice-skates for the girls for Christmas and today was our first experience with them. We drove to a nearby town that floods their green...the location was perfect for our purposes.
It took sensible, cautious Avery a little bit to warm up to the idea that she was opening up herself to the possibility of falling and was very hesitant to do anything without a firm grasp on Uncle Nathan's hands, but she slowly grew more confident with her uncle's gentle persistence and words of encouragement.
Avery sounds like my kind of girl. I believe I might have a bit of resistance to embracing a sport that can leave you flat on your tush too! :) I bet it's tremendous fun after you get good at it though.
ReplyDeleteeverytime i see your girls it make s me miss mine being little. :( i guess because they were close in age like this. i see you are enjoying each day with them, so i won't tell you to enjoy, you already are, it really does go by so fast! i wish i had taken more pictures of the everyday stuff. that was before digital cameras.
ReplyDeleteHow cute! I used to love ice skating (inside, cause it's too warm down south), but I never quite grasped the idea of stopping...
ReplyDelete(BTW, found you from Jackie's blog. =) )
Look out, Kristi! This is absolutely precious. You can even see their different personalities coming through in these pictures. Makes me miss ice skating - I used to love it as a little girl.
ReplyDeleteWow, we've never experienced weather like that. In our little rink-a-dink ice-skating rink you can wear a tank top and jeans. Fun fun. Hey I tagged you, hope you participate.
ReplyDeleteThis is way too cute! Liliana is fascinated by ice-skating! I want to go buy her some now... I don't know how! If I buy some, can we join you girls sometime???
ReplyDeleteIsn't so amazing how different each child's personality can be? I was definitely the one not afraid of anything.
ReplyDeleteMy gosh! Your girls are gorgeous!
