Party Time

Avery wanted her hair just so...her latest is "a tight ponytail with nothing sticking out".  Nana did her "party make-up" while I made last minute preparations.  Then we headed out to my sister's house where we had a joint birthday celebration for Avery and her cousin Trevor.
Here are three of her great-grandparents.  In attendance 5 great-grandparents, 5 grandparents, 4 aunts, 2 uncles, 8 cousins and friends and family of Trevor
She got to choose what she wanted her cake to be.  She went back and forth for a while and finally settled on a purse.  I was kinda glad I didn't have to do a butterfly, the runner up.
My sister and her husband have a beautiful home and yard.  This is the view from the deck...
...and this is the view from the pool.
Avery watching her slideshow.  Each year I put photos to music of the birthday person over the past year.  Since my kids are so young, it is incredible to mark the change over the course of just one year.
These two cousins parked it here for a while shoveling the food.  Well, Aiden did anyway.
Grandma took Aiden in the water and he was ok with it, but when he got out on his own in this turtle, he was thrilled!
And of course Amanda did her thing off the diving board.
Happy birthday...cake and ice cream by the pool on a beautiful day...I ask you...how good does it get??
So funny and cute on many levels.
It was a super fun day and I know Avery and Trevor were blessed.  Thank you, Amy and Colombo for hosting and thank you to our family for coming out!

  1. What an awesome family gathering. I am excited my whole family will be home this weekend. We only have about 4 times a year with each. So each moment is special and of course captured with photos. Happy Birthday Avery !!!
