Pre-School Ponderings
Aiden is very chatty. Without question, he talks more than the girls ever did. I truly love the time he and I have together and find it fascinating to get a glimpse into how his mind works. Occasionally though, I grow weary of the constant dialogue that goes something like this:
So Mom. Momma. Yes, Aiden? Well Mom...guess what? What Buddy? Mom, can I tell you something? Yes. Well Mom...did you know dat...
And then he's off talking about everything under the sun. Superheros, submarines, WWII, siblings, sharks, chrysalis, F22s, rockets, fossils, science experiments, legos, baseball. And everything in between!
The other day, as I was growing weary from being the sole benefactor of his shared wisdom, I decided to keep track of some of the things he said. Here is just a very small sampling of the snippets I could catch.
I've been thinking about that since our conversation...
Mom, I assure you...
This was really awkward. There was a girl who knew Trevor, but he didn't know her.
Goliath didn't fall straight on his bloody head. He fell to his knees first, like he was praising God.
(And since we were on the subject of dying)
A mother died in a house fire in the old days. Not when Jesus was here on the Earth, but when Abraham Lincoln was alive.
Remember the song of the Blackwood Brothers, "Goodbye Egypt"? This is what they packed when they left....
We've been working on letter combination sounds for school. He has trouble saying his "T's" in any word. We were doing "CH", as in 'cheese' and 'punch'. Then he offered the examples of 'tree' and 'truck' and I couldn't convince him that is was incorrect, because that IS how he says those words. :)
Love this little guy dearly and am so thankful for all the hours we log together. We have something very tender and special.
