Project 365, Week 20

May, you are magnificent!!

It was so great to see J riding again, getting settled into her new barn. We're all intrigued by this whole horse world. :)

May 15
First mow of the season, before and after.

Shaun and I attended a Foster Care Appreciation luncheon, put on by our agency because May is Foster Care Awareness month. I don't dwell on it, but foster care is a lonely, largely misunderstood road. So when we can get together with other families who understand it well because they themselves are in the trenches, its encouraging. This is our 7th year on the wild ride.

Pop and Kiki brought over a "just because we love you" watermelon. We are foodies when it comes to this fruit. ;)

May 17
After-school friends. :)

And lovely evening soccer games.

I bribe train the kids with candy to make their beds in the morning. Most days, before I leave for work, I walk around to the bedrooms...whoever has a made bed gets a candy left on top. I thought Aiden's room was so sweet this day, with Yoda tucked in and his Bible on the pillow. Also, there's not too much more Star Wars that could be packed in the shot.

I went to watch my first softball game of the season. Its always good to see Shaun out there, doing something he enjoys.

May 19
The day started early, we left the house at 7am for the first soccer game of the day. It was a "friendly" and Shaun wasn't sure he'd have enough players, so Avery and Aiden suited up. Since it didn't end up being competitive, Aiden played three quarters in goal for U12 girls. :)

The three younger kids were at sleepovers, so we brought the two teens to a charity banquet. We were tickled because their place card was mistakenly written as Mr. & Mrs. :) Also, it can be so fun to have teens...these two are such good company and so very sweet.

  1. Aiden’s bed is adorable. What a tender sight of boyhood and young manhood rolled into one moment.
