Project 365, Week 34

This week was spent at Outerbanks. We did equal time at the beach and pool. We watched sunrises from our deck. We read and played board and card games and did a couple 1000-piece puzzles. We ate good food. We hunted crabs. We played shuffleboard and road the waves on boogie boards and walked the beach and played in the sand. It was a really, really nice week...I think the pictures tell the story. We feel so grateful to have been able to be there.

I started each morning at the beach, being witness to the sun coming up. During the week I had many hours to sit or walk and pray and listen and find peace. What a gift it was to have the time to just be.

Remake of the Dirty Dancing scene gone awry. :) Auntie Sarah and Uncle Tony got voted the Most Fun aunt and uncle of the week. They were up for all the games!

When you start and end the day pausing to breathe in the sunrise and the sunset, you know it was a good day.

An extra-special treat was Shaun joining me most days. One of the many perks of older kids...we can sneak out together and don't have to have one of us stay back in case someone wakes up.

If Auntie Sarah is the fun one, then I'm the pester-y auntie with the camera who makes everyone shower and put on collared shirts and smile cheese. Oh well. I'm convinced its for a good cause. :)

My people. They are at such great ages to be doing life with!

Our last evening together.

The George Washington bridge is always an indication that we're not far from home.

Speaking of home, we arrived in enough time to unload the car, unpack suitcases and turn on church. Aiden saw that we'd be doing communion, so he gathered the elements for us.

A quiet Sunday, catching up on things around the house and a little soccer practice to close out the day.

  1. LOVE LOVE LOVE all the OBX pix. House looked great, especially the pool (huge!) area. Uncle Tony must have been sore after some of those towers! What a fun place/week. Beautiful!...loved Aiden's communion.
