Project 365, Week 32

Lots of activity this week, primarily for the kids! I'm grateful for summer and all the goodness we're able to squeeze out of it.

August 8
Wild and crazy things begin to happen when you have teenagers. For instance, sometimes they get in their car and drive themselves to kids camp, where they are a counselor. As I hugged her and prayed for her and sent her on her way, I recalled sending her to kids camp for the first time as a 3rd grader, knowing she'd be fine but still amazed she was old enough to join the "big kids".

August 9
Meanwhile, another teenager was in another country! It was always so good to see her face when she was able to check in!

Aiden did not hate being the only kid for the week.

So sweetly, C4 invited Rocco (who was also the only kid in his home) and Aiden over for a sleepover. Amy stopped by there and snapped his pic...a boys dream!

August 10
The next day his had adventures with Karen and Colombo and the boys.

August 11
My dad was feeling better so we invited him to join our campfire, working through the brush pile at the office. Aiden tried his hand at some creative photography.

Avery got home from camp in the afternoon and we got Mexican together while the boys were golfing.

August 12
I picked Amanda up from her trip at 630AM and then she slept the day away after a full night of travel. We watched the youth pastor's daughters for the day. They are so cute and so active. :)

TBQ practice was more of a check-in time, so we did it at our house.

August 13
Shaun is tireless about getting the kids to the soccer field for skills and conditioning. He presses through the groaning and arguing and excuses. I would have long given up, but he perseveres, being the gap until the kids mature enough to care and put in the work on their own.

Big day!! Avery started her first day of training as a waitress at Shady Glen. Kelly has successfully worked there for many years and encouraged Avery to apply. We so wanted to go but we promised we'd give her space to get her footing. But Amy used her aunt privileges and stopped by. :) When she got home, Avery was very gracious as Shaun and I interrogated her about every detail. She's a special 17 year-old, for sure.

Family fondue night.

August 14
Ryan was introduced as our new music minister. They are long-time friends and we're excited that as a piece of this move, he came on board with Hale Financial as an already-licensed advisor.

After church we met up with my brother's family at the park. Dakota was there, which gave all the kids permission to be kids. Summertime FUN!

We weren't home an hour and we were off to meet up with Nathan's gang at a different park for pizza and play. It was a lovely summer Sunday.
