Filthy Boy

Amanda bounces into the kitchen for lunch, sees her brother sitting in his chair like this and says...

Hey, Filthy Boy!  You might want to wash up your face before the mice take a bite out of YOU!

No idea.

Don't pick on people, jump on their failures, criticize their faults— unless, of course, you want the same treatment. That critical spirit has a way of boomeranging. It's easy to see a smudge on your neighbor's face and be oblivious to the ugly sneer on your own. Do you have the nerve to say, 'Let me wash your face for you,' when your own face is distorted by contempt? It's this whole traveling road-show mentality all over again, playing a holier-than-thou part instead of just living your part. Wipe that ugly sneer off your own face, and you might be fit to offer a washcloth to your neighbor.

  1. LOL! My mom actually had that happen when she was a child - I think she'd eaten peanut butter before bed & didn't get it all wiped off & woke up to a mouse on her face. Yikes x three!

  2. i love that verse...and the version you used. it's very good to remember that one. i am certainly guilty of wanting to wash someones face instead of just taking care of my own. thanks for the reminder. :)
