Our household and church is in full-on Passion of the King mode. Rehearsals both weekend days, and every night this week til late. Shaun and the girls have been at it for weeks...it seems exhausting to me, but the three of them are thriving with all of it and are clearly in the right ministry for them. For the most part Aiden and I have stayed home, but last night Avery had dance class so since I was near church I decided to stay and watch.
This was the first night of (a partial) dress rehearsal. I was up in the costume room getting the girls situated when someone came up to me and said Are you Amanda's mom? Ha! It didn't take me long to discover that she is a total rock star around those parts. Thankfully she is oblivious to her stardom and is just happy to be hanging out with 100 of her closet friends night after night. My sister referred to her at a "theater rat".
She knows all the songs and quite a bit of the dialogue.
Earlier in the day Amanda sent a special message requesting that her cousin Trevor come to the hang out.
My sister Amy is in her fourth year as Assistant Director and there is no one better suited than her for that role. The girl is amazing.Shaun is the master sound tech, one of the most thankless jobs there is...if he does his job perfectly no one notices, if anything goes wrong, everyone notices and assumes its his fault. :)
Aiden was ALL about what Shaun was doing and thought he really needed an assistant. Shaun was great about taking him whenever he could....so sweet.
Its been such a great experience for our family to be a part of this production. The girls know the story quite well, and I think there is nothing better that they could know about than The Greatest Story Ever Told.
Most nights are sold out, so if you want tickets for Wednesday or Thursday (the only days left), get them today! Tickets here.
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die;
John 11:25
