Littlest Warrior

Aiden's all time favorite story is David and Goliath.  He always requests that one when we read and his sisters always groan but we all give in because he's cute and passionate and the baby.

He acts it out, taking turns being David and then Goliath.  We have a song about it that has been the second most requested bedtime song for a good spell now, right behind old faithful Jesus Loves Me.

So you can understand why, when I saw this, and with the offer of free shipping, I just couldn't resist.

And the smiles (on both their faces) made it totally worth it.

Since, we've had many sighting of this warrior.  Sometimes he is mean ol' Goliath and other times he is a soldier in the army of the Lord.

I taught him a song I learned about 25ish years ago (my siblings...and maybe Shaun's sister...will appreciate this):

I've got my helmet and my breastplate and my sword of the spirit,
My shield of faith, I'm wrapped in truth, my feet carry good news
So stand up straight and stand up tall, we're in God's army
So tell the world to fight the war in Jesus' name.

On Z's birthday, when Aiden and I delivered cupcakes to his class, Aiden wanted to wear his armor.  It didn't take him long before he realized everyone was looking at him and saying he was cute.  He couldn't understand it.

Love the joy and spirit this little guy brings to our home!

 The cutest little warrior I ever did see!

 The backwards short are my favorite here.

Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;

Ephesians 6:13-17
