Project 365, Week 22

An argument could be made that some of these pictures should have been separated out in another post. Oh well. It was a week of fun and family and remembering the incredible things so many brave people have done so that we can live in a free country. So blessed!

May 24
Kiki had a milestone birthday, so we all got together to celebrate. It was a beautiful summertime-ish evening and the kids had a blast running around the yard and just being together.

May 25
We went to a nearby town to watch Shaun's grandfather ride in the Memorial Day parade. He also received an award for his 60+ years of membership with the American Legion, most of those were very active years....he's always been civic minded.

Later, we met up with Amy's family and an incredible group of people from our church family. Wide open spaces and plenty of friends.

I had my eye on this hottie in the blue.

Its a little bit of a joke (to me) but May is Foster Parent Appreciation Month. Its a joke because I can't think of too many endeavours that have a larger chasm between the effort made and the appreciation given. Fostering is a demanding, thankless job that you will quickly grow weary of if you are doing it for any earthly reason.

But, the director of our agency called and personally invited me to attend the "thank you" luncheon they were hosting. I knew it would be a good chance to see all the workers and some foster moms I'm friends with, so I went. It was held at a lovely location and I brought my very handsome date. After lunch we explored the park for a bit and watched a momma duck with her wondering ducklings.

May 27
While I was a soccer with the girls, Shaun and Aiden worked on finally mastering a two-wheel bicycle. The next day he wanted me to help him practice.

May 28
At the luncheon on Tuesday Aiden won a gift card playing bingo. We went to TJ Maxx to trade the card for some fun merchandise and the next day he packed it around everywhere, even to pick up the girls from school.

SO pretty!!
Four of the six of us played in games...the girls on the same soccer team, R and Shaun on the same softball team. Its fun to watch them learn, grow and develop.

  1. I love the pix of the kids hugging Grampy. Glad I got to be a part of a couple of your days this week.

  2. I love the crying baby in the group picture - I don't know why, but those kind of photos tickle me.

Beautiful sky pictures... Looks like a lovely week!
