Project 365, Week 6

We made it through January!  Here in New England that is historically the coldest month of the year, with average highs barely reaching the freezing point, though mercifully, this year was mild.

We continued to enjoy time with my brother's family...we are getting spoiled having them around and being a part of everything.  With 14 kids, everyone is bound to have someone to play with and a spare for when the fighting breaks out.

January 31
We said goodbye to our out-of-town guests, after the girls got beautified with Aunt Bonnie.

For the four months or so of the year that Shaun has a desk job, Sunday is iron-shirts day.  I'd have to say its my least favorite chore (as in, I'd rather clean toilets anyday over that).  Being as cheap as I am, I know that the only thing I'd like less than ironing them myself is taking them to the cleaners (another errand...no thanks) and paying someone else to do it.  So, I quit grumbling about it and now do it with a happy heart, thinking of how I am blessing my husband and how I will spend all those dollars I am saving.  :) And, it usually only takes me about 20 minutes...not exactly a big chunk out of my week!

February 1
After dance practice, we went to hang out with cousins.  Always a party there, always a playmate to have fun with.
February 2
I think Aiden is doing bicep curls here.

A night out with my two sisters and sister-in-law, Amy, Elizabeth, Bethany, me.  Shopping, dinner (thanks Amy and Colombo!) and a movie.  Thanks to the grandparents and dads who made it happen...a minor miracle with fourteen kids between us.

February 3
A friend gave me these as a (unnecessary) thank-you gift.  They make me smile...fresh, clean, seasonally appropriate dish towels.

February 4
My "little" girl is growing up!
February 5
We had a fun evening with cousins at our house.
February 6
Sleepovers are best if they can happen sleeping cramped together in a tent.  This picture was taken in the middle of the day when Avery was explaining to me that they wanted me to count to 30, then look in all different places before eventually finding them under the blankets in their tent.  Three little giggly girls thought it was so much fun!
Thanks for hosting, Sara!

  1. one of the best gifts my MIL ever gave me (back when Steve had to where a suit to church) was the $ each month to have his shirts ironed!

well we know Aiden wasn't watching Jillian b/c he has a smile on his face! ha!

I am not a detail person at all, but I LOVE fresh, clean dish towels!!

always great pictures of your kids!! I so, so wish digital cameras were around when mine were young.

  2. Ironing. I feel the same way. I do it to save the money; it doesn't take long, but it's a gift of LOVE.

Those dish towels were sooo cute.

Looks like you're having fun with lots of family.

    Thanks for sharing your week!

  3. Very cute girls Lisa. The one pic of your girl with the music player going... We stopped to get our hairs cut last night and there was a little girl sitting on the floor playing and reading books and she had her mp3 player going just like that. Very cute!

  5. Cute pictures! I don't iron. If I time it just right, I can get them out of the dryer close to not wrinkled...that's good enough for me. Happy my husband doesn't care! Those wrinkle-free shirts are really pretty decent from JC Penny! LOL! He doen't do taxes, though.

  6. I'm with you on ironing. And since we dry everything on the line, I do a lot more these days than I used to do in the days when I had a dryer. Looking forward to getting parts to fix the one our coworkers gave us; it'll be nice to dry the things that wrinkle the most.

Fourteen young'uns! Whew! I'm sure they're having a blast though :-) It's wonderful the cousins are having time together like that.

    Great photos!

  7. I love all the pictures of the little girls. They are so adorable. My favorite one is with them lined up eating their red suckers. So Sweet.

  8. Oh, it looks like you had such a fun week. Well, aside from the ironing part. I have that same hatred for that chore! I'm still trying to find joy in it... Wow. I just saw Sara's comment. How nice would THAT be??

  11. I hate ironing too. I wait for a coupon and let the dry cleaners do it for .99 cents a shirt. So worth it:) LOL
plus I am no good at it.
    Love your exercising man. Cute.

  12. I actually don't mind ironing, and even enjoy the shirt routine, but maybe that's cause I don't do much of it anymore ;)
Love the sisterly fun and the cousin coziness!
Great pic of Aiden and of the dishtowels (in a different sort of way ;).
