Project 365, Week 50

What is that saying?  Better late than never?  Well, that definitely applies to Project 365 for me! :)  I've got a whole arsenal of excuses, but since its Christmas time you can probably make up one for me.  The themes for this week are camera phone pictures and grandparents.  I've had a lot on my plate and have felt added pressure these last couple weeks.  Having grandparents who call and ask if they can take the kids?  Ah, what a treat (for everyone involved!).

The girls were excited to make our annual gingerbread house.  Unfortunately, the house was built on the sand and could not withstand the storms.

But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash. Matt 7:26.27
Trot beat against the house and "it fell with a great crash".
 December 6
Saying goodbye after a fun-filled day.  I got SO much done and the kids and Pop and Kiki enjoyed each other.  These poor kids get no attention! :)

 December 7
Doing what puppies do.  He's such a good dog and though he's a lot of work, we are enjoying him.
 December 8
Mimi stayed with the kids while Shaun and I went out to dinner and got some much needed time together.
 December 9
Grammy and Bobbi took the girls to RI to visit their cousins.  Aiden enjoyed being king of the castle.
December 10
After working my tail off all week, I decided to go with Shaun and the kids to the mall, even though he offered to take them on his own.  He shopped while I watched the kids in the playscape and worked on the laptop.  Amanda did play with the kids some, but most of the time I saw her engrossed in a conversation with one of the adults.  This picture just makes me laugh out loud.  The adults she spent the most time talking to were those two Asian women in the background and from everything I could tell, they spoke next to no English.  They did laugh a lot and Amanda ended up getting some food, so I guess the relationship worked out for everyone.  :)  What a gift she has!

That evening we all went to watch Shaun play basketball.
December 11
Started the day bright and early at Nutcracker rehearsal.  Avery is a lamb and is hiding behind that fence (she's supposed to be, just to clarify :)
Then on to my last wedding in 2010.  Though we were missing snow, it was still a winter wonderland with a pretty blue and white theme.  You can see the entire 3-minute slideshow here.  Congrats, Elier and Lida!

  1. I have a brilliant friend who suggested hot gluing the house together before letting the kids decorate. We lost our roof due to an over-icing slip.

  2. Termites (Kamden) got to the icing holding the walls in place. Finger by finger, he licked the spackle out from behind the walls.Fun.

  3. Love that picture of Amanda in the play area - it looks like she's saying, "not much, 'sup with you?" LOL.

What a great dress for a December wedding! My 20th is tomorrow, but I was married in NC, so there wasn't going to be any fur (faux or otherwise) on MY dress!

  4. I was very BLESSED today to receive a Christmas card from your beautiful family. That was nice of you to think of me. I have been a bad blogger this year with so many changes and new beginnings and endings to things. I read your letter our loud and my husband says "wow, that guy sounds like Me!" ... I laughed because I have always seen the similarities in our families. :) I hope your family has a BLESSED Christmas and know that we are thinking of you. much LOvE!!
