Several years ago, after Shaun's sister got married, we made the decision to move our family celebration to the weekend before Christmas so that we could all be together every year instead of messing with an every-other-year kind of system.
We also switched to choosing names instead of everyone buying for everyone. Doing that has allowed us a chance to adopt a family who would not otherwise have a Christmas and buy presents for families who actually need things. The other thing it does is allow us more time for just being together on the day. Sarah always makes a nice dinner and we play games and do lots of laughing.
This year was the best yet, I think. So, so blessed to have family.
Every year Shaun's grandparents ship up a huge box filled with special gifts for each one of us. We always have a lot of fun opening up those gifts and then modeling them.
As it was getting late, Sarah set up the kids with their new movie, Ratatouille and popcorn and the adults got uninterrupted game time.
Cousins at Christmastime...good stuff!

and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
