Thanksgiving Day

Up until Monday evening I thought I was doing treatment on Tuesday and would be out of commission for Thanksgiving Day. The family knows how much it means to me to have my house full of people (and to keep up traditions), so they coordinated everything, all I had to do was show up.

It was a perfect day. We had a beautiful time of going around the table, saying what we were thankful for. My heart couldn't even put into words what it meant to just be present and we all really had so much to be thankful for. Nathan mentioned the legacy that's been created for us by the grandparents and great-grandparents present...what a gift. Later in the evening, Shaun and his three siblings plus us four spouses were gathered in one room...we are all friends and doing life together, supporting and rooting each other on. What a gift!

Thanksgiving is always very special, but this year it held a little extra weight. I'm grateful. Just grateful.

Once again, Sienna and Avery put together pretty place cards.

I love that this phone collection basket just sort of happened, and that's where they stayed for the day.

This is a dream baby. Five minutes before we sat down to dinner she fell asleep in Shaun's arms and slept here, tucked in the corner until we were finished eating.

Last year there was sledding, this year shorts. We'll take it!!

The kitchen crew...

And then it was show time. Nathan and the girls acted out their own rendition of the 12 Days of Christmas. It was...special. :)

Our usual failed cousin picture. :)
