What a difference a day makes! Right now I'm sitting at my desk watching the snow fall. Its beautiful, but such a pain to deal with.
But yesterday was spring-ish and we took advantage of it! I told the kids if they finished their chores early enough, we could go for a hike. They got it done and we went out in sweatshirts, enjoying the 50 degree temps!
What a hopeful feeling to be out in warmth after such cold. The seasons DO come back each year!
It wasn't long before we stumbled on some water, or rather ice. Frozen water makes me a little nervous because I don't know how to know if its safe or not, but since there were ice fishermen sitting out in it, I figured we were ok.
Typically, Avery and Aiden held back, dutifully assessing the risks while R and Amanda plowed ahead, not even considering that something could go wrong.
In fact, the first thing Amanda did was grab a stick to beat the ice.
For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land of flowing streams and pools of water, with fountains and springs that gush out in the valleys and hills.
Deuteronomy 8:7
