Father's Day Adventures

This Father's Day dawned bright and beautiful...."they" said it would be one of the best weather days all year and it really was.  I went to my dad's church for service because that's where he spends his Sundays.  The kids stood in the back and helped say goodbye to everyone.

Naturally, everyone asked what happened to Aiden's chin.  About 20 times he held up five fingers and said Four stitches!  Hilarious.

 Umm....??
 Me and my dad.
Shaun "only" worked eight hours so we could spend the afternoon with him.  When he got home, the girls were anxious to give him their cards.

Then we packed it up and hit the driving range so Shaun could dust off his clubs for the first time this season.

Last week when I was talking with the girls about what they thought Daddy would like to do for Father's Day, they both pretty confidently said, He would like to go to Chuck E Cheese.  When they suggested it to him on Sunday, he jumped on it.

After we'd spent all our tokens and cashed in the tickets, we hit DQ on the way home.  As we were eating our ice cream Amanda said, Daddy, its Father's Day and you didn't get to do anything you wanted to do...we got all the fun stuff.  Shaun explained to her that was makes him most happy is when his kids are happy. :)

Oh yeah....keeping that chin nice and clean and dry!

Shaun is SUCH a good dad.  These kids are incredibly blessed to have him in their lives.

Fathers, don't exasperate your children by coming down hard on them. Take them by the hand and lead them in the way of the Master.
