Fashion Show

My dad is a nursing home chaplain and invited the girls to be part of a fashion show they were having. Sounded like something Amanda would be totally into and Avery would muscle her way through. As it turns out, the show started right in the middle of nap time and Amanda developed a fever out of nowhere. Avery was refusing to do it, so I pulled out the big guns and called Shaun. They chatted and I guess he basically asked her to do him a personal favor and participate.

They had an informal part and then a quick change for the formals. I had envisioned them walking down the "runway" hand in hand or with my dad, but they wouldn't have it, so the nine month pregnant lady got to walk down the runway, too...possibly a first in any fashion show. :)

Their "formals". Lipstick makes everything better.

Here we are backstage with some of the other models and escorts

It was a full house, with lots of happy old people

These are the oldest and youngest models together, ranging from 98 to 2!

My dad with the princesses

After pictures there was punch and cookies...a happy ending!

Once it was over, they started to warm up (no pun intended for Amanda) and Amanda went to a couple different groups and serenaded them. Here they are singing "You are my sunshine", which she learned that morning while I was doing her hair.

Another attentive audience listening to "Doe A Deer"

They were a blessing to lots of people and eventually had fun. Later as a reward, Daddy took us to Dairy Queen for a treat. A successful day!

  2. I cannot even imagine how much these sweet people at the nursing home must have loved this event! And you are the most stunning 9-month-pregnant model I have ever seen - you looked great walking down there with the girls! Sorry Amanda wasn't feeling well - is she doing better?

Dairy Queen can make anything worthwhile. Now you have me thinking about their chocolate dipped cones. :)
