Wednesday's Walk

This week's memory walk brings us to January 2005.  Back in the day, we used to get two newspapers delivered to our front step.  A state-wide newspaper delivered in the morning and a (very) local one that came in the afternoon.  Its kind of unbelievable to me now, but we both used to read those, every day.  (we've since stopped getting any newspapers and only dream about a time when we would spend two hours with the Sunday paper).  :)

Anyway, one of my favorite sections in the Sunday paper was the Travel section.  I loved to read about the different places and watch the prices go up and down.  One day in early January, I found a great deal on a short cruise.  A brief conversation with Shaun, a request for the time off of work and we were departing a week later.

We flew down to Florida early and spent a couple days with Shaun's grandparents.

This trip felt different from others we'd had because we recognized it as being our last "easy" vacation...the last one without children in our lives.  :)

I can't remember the stops we made, though I know one was Mexico.  I was 17 weeks here and I remember that well because we were in Florida the first time I felt "the baby", Avery, move.

We toured beautiful Tulum, Mexico and learned so many amazing things.  This tour was also where we heard the joke:

What do you call someone who speaks three languages?  Tri-lingual.
What do you call someone who speaks two languages?  Bi-lingual.
What do you call someone who speaks one language?  An American.

Ha!  So true!
