Our house is a "come on over" type of place and people do. Sometimes we know them and sometimes they are strangers brought by people we know and sometimes they are street people stealing cameras. :) Anyway, the people that come over frequently leave belongings behind. Often we are able to identify the item and return it. Other times, we have no idea so we ask around, we leave it by the door so someone might see it and eventually, after several months, Shaun claims it as his own. (shockingly, its most often mens clothes that get left).
In the spring, I posted this picture of Amanda as one of my Project 365 photos. Several days later, my brother-in-law was over and told me he'd been looking and looking for his shoes and couldn't find them anywhere. Then he read my blog and saw his shoes...mystery solved!
So, I thought maybe it could work again. Hey...who says blogs don't serve a useful purpose? We've had these cleats sitting by the front door for weeks and no one has claimed them. So, if you are looking for your shoes...here they are! Or, if you've always wanted a pair of worn in, size 10 cleats, you are welcome to them!
Yeah, the hardwood floors look so much worse in pictures than when you are looking at the room as a whole (I think). Its on the list to redo them, but quite frankly, I'm not in a huge hurry...the older the kids can be, the better.
Or imagine a woman who has ten coins and loses one. Won't she light a lamp and scour the house, looking in every nook and cranny until she finds it? And when she finds it you can be sure she'll call her friends and neighbors: 'Celebrate with me! I found my lost coin!' Count on it—that's the kind of party God's angels throw every time one lost soul turns to God.
Luke 15:8-10
it's a little interesting that mostly men's clothes get left at your house!! hmmmmmm....
ReplyDeleteand how do you take your shoes off and then walk out without them?
I hear you about waiting to redo the floors. My dining room table is just awful! I'm in no hurry to get a new one because I can't imagine trying to protect it from marker and glue and everything else that happens on our dining room table! Hope you find the owner of the shoes!
ReplyDeleteHow does one leave your house WITHOUT shoes???!!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you blurred out Amanda's 'area'. Thought it might be cute to throw a little "censored" sign over it or photoshop a big Christmas bow or something....
love how you end every blog with a scripture!!! I want to start doing that! You are full of the Word girl...I love it! :o)
ReplyDeleteOh my word this post made me laugh so hard!! And I'm with Amy on the photoshopped bow...I'm thinking, there's gotta be an action for that! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking the same thing - who leaves without their shoes.
ReplyDeleteI get boys socks and t-shirts. I do have moms ask me if I have seen their sons missings shirts.
